Obituary

DUDLEY – John B. “Jay” Williams, 62, of Dudley, died Monday, May 9, 2011 in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge, after being stricken ill at his home.

He leaves his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth D. (Wooster) Williams; 2 daughters, Corinna J. Williams of Dudley and Angela F. White and her husband Timothy of Port St. Lucie, FL; 4 grandsons, Michael Koneczny, Daren White, Cameron Oosterman and Tyler White; a half-brother, Richard Bender of Colorado Springs, CO; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, William Williams of Holden and Berkley Williams, Jr. of Florida.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Berkley Williams, Sr. and Joan (Geifing) Williams. He lived in West Boylston and Northborough. He then lived in Oxford for 35 years before moving to Dudley 3 years ago. He graduated from Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough in 1968. He also attended Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester.

Mr. Williams was a self-employed contractor. He owned and operated Blue Jay Builders for the last 20 years. Prior to that, he was an auto body specialist.

He enjoyed watching sports, in particular the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Celtics and the New England Patriots.

Funeral services will be held privately. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster.
