Obituary

Robert A. “Bob” Whitmore, 84 of Milford, NH passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Crestwood Care and Rehabilitation Center in Milford surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 19, 1926 in Scotch Plains, NJ, a son of the late Gordon and Ethel (Armatage) Whitmore. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Mr. Whitmore worked for over 30 years as a salesman for Prudential Insurance Company. An avid flying enthusiast, Bob loved to fly and flew his plane to many destinations, including Alaska and Bahamas. He also enjoyed motorcycles, boating and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Steven R. Whitmore of Hollis, NH, one grandson, James Whitmore of Hollis, one sister, Nancy Bermudes of Vineyard Haven, MA, six nieces and nephews, and his current wife Dorothy (Dexter) Whitmore of Derry. He was predeceased by his first wife, Corrine Whitmore in 1991 after more than 40 years of marriage.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a graveside service was held on Wednesday, May 11th at 10:00am at Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
