Esther E. (Santino) Nazzaro, a 15 year resident of Taunton and formerly of Holbrook, died on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at Dexter House Nursing Home in Malden following an extended illness. She was 81 years old.
Esther was born in Boston on April 25, 1930 to the late Anthony and Viola (DeLong) Santino. She grew up in Dorchester where she attended and graduated from Boston Public Schools. Esther worked as a Meter Maid for the City of Boston for several years in the 1980's. For many years, Esther was involved in the tansporting of clients and the general administration of Paula's Hair Salon on Bunker Hill St. in Charlestown that she co-owned with her loving partner of 32 years Paula J. Soucy who passed away in April of 2010.
Esther is the beloved sister of the late Dorothy Romano, John Santino and Paul Santino. She is the sister-in-law of Catherine Santino of Florida and Pamela Santino of North Carver. She is the loving aunt of John Romano, Linda Faro, Scott Santino, Sara Santino, Kathy Santino, Toni Hammett and her many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Esther's Funeral on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Cremation will take place following the funeral mass. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m.
