O’CONNOR David J. “Okie” Age 86. Passed away peacefully on May 5, 2011. In Sarasota, Florida. Formerly of Mission Hill. David resided in Hull and Nokomis, Florida. As a Naval enlistee, David served on the USS Chester and was a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives and the House Rules Committee and Sergeant at Arms for the Massachusetts State Legislature. He was Director of the David J. O’Connor Funeral Home in Mission Hill for many years. One of his greatest joys was being part of the Mohawks, a group whose loyal friendship spanned over 75 years. He is survived by his beloved companion of many years, Patricia Wanders and her children and grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Friday, May, 13 at 9 am, followed by a Funeral Mass in the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Mission Church at 10 o’clock.
