WEST GLOUCESTER: Arthur Chesley Young, 62, died early Tuesday morning, May 3, 2011. Arthur will be greatly missed by his wife of twenty-six years, Sheila Callahan-Young.
Born in Salem on April 25, 1949, he was the son of Adele (Chesley) Young of Wellesley and the late Ray Young. Arthur grew up in Augusta, Maine and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War era.
In the 1970’s, he moved to Cape Ann where he was employed by Varian Semiconductor Equipment, Inc. as an electrical engineer for many years, retiring in 2008. He will be remembered for his unique, dry sense of humor and wide range of interests, abilities and knowledge.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his brothers, Lawrence Young and his wife Louise O’Grady Young of Wellesley and Eastham, David Young and his wife Margaret O’Grady Young of Windham, NH; several nieces and nephews and his three devoted curly coated retrievers.
