James “Ed” Moran Jr., 88, of Bedford died January 26, 2004 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a brief illness.
Born in Boston, MA on April 8, 1915, he was the son of James and Bertha (Sheehan) Moran. He lived in Bedford for many years.
He was a graduate of Boston Latin High School. He then attended Boston College and Northeastern University before graduating from Bentley College in 1940.
During World War II he served in the US Air Force as a statistical control officer.
Mr. Moran retired from BF Goodrich, Footwear Division where he had worked for 30 years. He enjoyed badminton, tennis, baseball and hockey and had coached Little League baseball.
He was married to Mary (Mooney) Moran who died in 1993.
The family includes two children, Patricia Graham of East Sandwich, MA and Chuck Moran of Bedford and six grandchildren.
A memorial mass of Christian burial was celebrated Friday January 30, 2004 in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 199 Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford. Burial was in Highland Cemetery, Dover, MA.
