Patricia, D. O’Brien, 88, of Scenery Lane, died Monday at Elmhurst Extended Care. She was the wife of William H. O’Brien. They were married for 65 years.
Born in Elwood, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Anna (Elliot) Magers. She lived in Johnston since 1988.
Mrs. O’Brien was a Registered Nurse and had worked at the former Lying In Hospital, Roger Williams Hospital, The Jane Brown and Hattie Ide Chaffee Nursing Home until her retirement. She was a WWII veteran of the Womens Army Corp.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Patricia A. Spelman of Rehoboth, MA; 3 sons, William J. O’Brien of Tustin, CA, John H. O’ Brien of East Greenwich and Stephen P. O’Brien of Warwick; two brothers Francis Magers of Indianapolis, IN and Thomas Magers of Clearwater, FL, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Robert F. O’Brien and sister of the late Eva Magers, Ann Place, William Magers, Gertrude Magers and Loretta Butler.
Funeral Thursday at 8AM from the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9AM in St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Avenue, Johnston, RI 02919. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Robert Bellarmine Church Food Bank.
