Bobby James O’Neal
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, May 2, 2011, Mr. Bobby James O’Neal, 78, husband of Margaret Heath O’Neal.
Mr. O’Neal was the son of the late William Madison O’Neal and Ella Maude Freeman O’Neal. Mr. O’Neal was born in Dudley, GA and had lived in Augusta since 1970. Following his service in the US Air Force, Mr. O’Neal began a career with the Veterans Administration, retiring in 1987.
He is survived by his wife and daughter: Susanne Beeland of Evans, GA, son: Ed O’Neal (Tara) of Evans, GA, grandchildren: Krista Fields (David), Zackary Beeland, Madison, Grace and Lillian O’Neal, great-grandchildren: Andrew and Kayden Fields; brother: Ray O’Neal of Athens, GA, sisters: Faye Starley and Gloria Thorn, both of Milledgeville, GA.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Dr. Gregory DeLoach and Dr. Jacob Malone officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Chip and Dean O’Neal, Dale and Paul Thorn, Dwayne Childree and Wilson Folk. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the First Baptist Church Evans McKay Sunday School Class.
