Chris “The Honk” Zotos age 84 of Taunton, formerly of Brockton, died Friday April 29, 2011 at the Morton Hospital after a period of failing health. He was the devoted husband of Mary (Lawrence) Zotos. Born and raised in Danbury, Conn., he was the son of the late Matthew and Arety (Nanos) Zotos. Chris moved to Brockton in 1946 and had been a resident of Taunton for the past 11 years.
During WWII Chris served in the US Army Airborne. His professional career was spent as a bartender in Brockton. For many years he worked for his uncle at the BC Café and also at Christos Restaurant.
Chris enjoyed golf and was a longtime member at D.W. Field Golf Course where he was credited with two holes-in-one. He was an avid fan of all sports and loved to play cards.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a step son Robert A. Ciampi, Jr. of Taunton and his adopted daughter Melissa M. Zotos Denson of New Hampshire. He was the brother of Helen Gioulis and her husband Nondas of Brockton and the late Stephen Zotos killed in action in WWII. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday 5-8 pm. A Service will be celebrated in the funeral home Wednesday at 10:30 am. Burial with military honors in Pine Hill Cemetery. Donations in Chris’ name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
