Mrs. Ranzie Lema Poindexter Hutchins Knight, age 94, of King, widow of the late Samuel Taylor Hutchins and the late Leonard George Knight Sr, passed away on, Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Village Care of King. She was born on March 22, 1917 in Surry County, to the late Jerry Sexton and Maggie Rodella Key Poindexter. Mrs. Knight was a homemaker and was a member of Dobson Church of God. Mrs. Knight is survived by three sons and daughter-in-laws, Moir T. and Mae Hutchins of Siloam, Rommie G. Knight Sr. of Winston-Salem and David L. and Wanda Knight of Siloam; two stepsons, Leonard Knight, Jr. of Winston-Salem and Larry Knight, of Burgaw; 24 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ola Mae Humphrey of Asheboro and Stacy Fie of East Bend; one brother, Rev. James Poindexter of East Bend; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Knight was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; three sisters, Margie Poindexter, Mary Crider and Irene Pettitt; four brothers, Roy Poindexter, Wade Poindexter, Clayton Poindexter and Raymond Poindexter; and two stepsons, Lawrence Knight and William Lee Knight. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Cox-Needham Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Homer Lowdermilk and the Rev. Robbie Sizemore officiating with interment to follow at Dobson Church of God. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
