Whitman – Gerald M. “Gerry” Waylor 65, a resident of Whitman for 25 years died unexpectedly Tuesday April 26. He was the beloved husband of 44 years to Stephanie A. (Davis) Waylor.
Born in Claremont, NH and raised in Boston and Weymouth he was the son of the late Samuel G. and Anita (Gregoire) Waylor and a graduate of Weymouth High.
Before his retirement Gerry had worked for Armstrong Cork for over 35 years. After retirement Gerry went to work as a security guard for Securitas for several years.
He had truly enjoyed educating himself about antiques and has acquired several antiques and “collectables”.
In addition to his beloved wife Stephanie he is survived by his loving daughters Samantha A. Jensen and her husband Barry of Kingston and Suzanne M. O’Connor of Whitman, his grandchildren Torin, Caileigh and Teague Jensen and Sabrina O’Connor, and his sister Donna Waylor of Weymouth. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Earle and Val Gregoire, Yvonne Burke and Roberta Dugas all of Claremont, NH as well as several cousins.
His funeral service will be held Friday April 29 at 10 AM in the Weymouth Community Baptist Church, 17 Mutton Lane, Weymouth, MA 02189. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Thursday April 28 from 4-8 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman.
