Ms Jewell Louise Chilton Tilley, age 84, of Ararat, NC passed away on, Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at her home. She was born on November 21, 1926 in Surry County, to the late to Walter Manuel and Norene Nelson Chilton. Ms. Tilley was of the Baptist faith and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. Ms. Tilley is survived by five sons and four daughter-in-laws, Russell Tilley and special friend Judy Brooks, of Pittsboro, NC, Daryl and Pat Tilley, Dennis and Judy Tilley, Rex and Mary Tilley, and Perry and Stephanie Tilley, all of Ararat, NC; two daughters and son-in-laws, Judy and Ronnie Chilton and Pamela and Charles Boles, both of Pilot Mountain; one sister, Sara Stone, of Pilot Mountain; one sister-in-law, Louise Tilley, of Ararat, NC; seventeen grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Ms. Tilley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edgar Glenn Tilley, of Ararat, NC; and one son and daughter-in-law, James and Shirley Tilley, of Pilot Mountain. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Cox-Needham Chapel at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Kermit Gray and Rev. Alan Branch officiating with interment will follow at Mount Zion Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on, Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. .
