Barbara Jean Sigmon Ferguson, 76, of Ringgold, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Roman Eagle Memorial Home where she had been a patient for the past four months. She was born in Danville on November 19, 1934 to the late Charles Taylor Sigmon and Ella Frances Bledsoe Sigmon. She was married to James H. Ferguson for 59 years.
Mrs. Ferguson had lived most of her life in the Ringgold area where she was a member of Williamson Memorial Presbyterian Church,
She was a homemaker. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, James Wayne Ferguson and wife, Patricia Faye,of Ringgold, and Barry Howard Ferguson and wife, Kim, of Boydton; also one daughter, Velva Gaye Ferguson Tate and husband, Richard Dean Tate, of Keeling. Other survivors include one sister, Glenda Dean Sigmon Dudley of Hampton, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Troy C. Sigmon.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Floral Hills Memory Gardens with the Rev. Ron Obenchain officiating. The family will receive friends at 336 Airport Road, Ringgold.
