SGT Mitchell Ira Ward (Retired), age 73 of Clarksville, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Gateway Medical Center.
A Memorial service with Full Military Honors will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 5 p.m., at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry Wiliams officiating. Visitation will be from 3 until the hour of the service on Tuesday.
SGT Ward was retired from the US Army. He also retired from the Jersey Miniere Zinc Company. He was born December 23, 1937 in Edenton, NC, the son of the late Chester A. Ward and Vida Gay Ward.
Survivors include wife, Bonnie Martin Ward; a son, Mitchel Ward, Jr., Weisbaden, Germany; daughter, Angel Gordon- Soots, Clarksville; brother, Terry Ward, Washington, DC; a sister, Mary Ward Nixon, Greensboro, NC; a grandson, Dustin Soots; and close friends to the family, Lacey Joiner and Lyndsey Weimer.
