Alice (Bettencourt) Tavares, age 67, of Westport, passed away April 22, 2011 in Tampa, FL. She was the widow of Daniel Tavares. Born in Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Souza) Bettencourt. Alice was a parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport.
Alice was the mother of Kimberly Tavares of Westport & Tammy Swainamer of Fall River, and the longtime partner of Antonio Leite of Westport, the sister of John & Antone Bettencourt both of E. Providence, Gabriel Bettencourt of FL, Tillie Medeiros of Bristol, RI, Myra Souza of Rehoboth, Lee Tavares of FL, the late Joseph Bettencourt Jr., James Bettencourt, Agnes Campos, grandmother of 7, great grandmother of 5, aunt to several nieces & nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on SATURDAY at 8:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Grace Church, Sanford Rd., Westport at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours FRIDAY 5-9 P.M.
