Obituary


Irving “Joey” Williams III, 43, of Fall River, Ma, passed away on Saturday April 23, 2011 at Mass General Hospital in Boston surrounded by the loving comfort of his family. He was the beloved husband of Shannon (Chasse) Williams.

He was born in New Bedford, the son of Irving Williams Jr. and the son of late Patricia (Thomas) Williams, and the step-son of Bette (Gomes) Williams and Barbara Williams. He was raised in Rochester, MA, graduated from old Colony High School and spent his career as a chef. He enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his infectious smile and laugh, and the way he made everyone feel welcomed and loved.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Taysia Jacobs and Sahvanna Williams, of Fall River; four siblings: Mark Tourinho and his fiancé Maria of Oldsmar, FL, Jeana Lockhart of New Bedford, Christine Pond and her husband Randy, of Weymouth, and Michele Fralin and her husband Roy, of Norton. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 30, 2011 at 2:00pm at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 33 Braley Rd, E. Freetown, MA, and celebrated by the Rev. Curtis Dias. Family and friends are invited to attend.
