Dick Odenweller

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, April 21, 2011 at University Hospital, Mr. Richard F. “Dick” Odenweller, Jr., 80, husband of Mrs. Peggy Jean Odenweller.
Mr. Odenweller was a native of Columbus, OH and spent most of his life in Augusta. He graduated in 1947 from Boys Catholic High and attended Augusta Junior College. He retired as a procurement supervisor from MCG after 25 years of service. Mr. Odenweller was an avid golfer and golf instructor for the Augusta area. He was a volunteer scorer for 44 years at the Masters Tournament. Mr. Odenweller was always on the golf course with his sons and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Family members in addition to his wife include his sons: Richard E. “Ricky” Odenweller and wife Vickie, Robert M. “Bobby” Odenweller and wife Debbie, the late Stephen F. “Stevie” Odenweller; grandchildren: Ashley Odenweller Atkins, James Richard Odenweller; and great-grandchildren: Kaitlin Renew, Rhett Odenweller and Molly Odenweller.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Fr. Thomas Healy officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
