NEW BEDFORD… Bella Ruth (Almeida) Roderick, 93, of Fall River died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility in New Bedford.
She was the widow of Joseph P. Roderick.
She was born in Westport, a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Maria (Paiva) Almeida.
She was employed as a stitcher at various mills for many years, retiring in 1983.
Mrs. Roderick was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Thomas Street, Fall River. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Survivors include her caretaker and God Daughter Beverly A. Souza of New Bedford, several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joseph J. Almeida, Mary Medeiros, Viola Carreiro, Evelyn Raposa, Anna Medeiros, and Lillian Rezendes.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Monday at 9AM from the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant, Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Thomas Street, Fall River, MA. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours Sunday 3 - 6 PM.
