Christine M. “Tena” (McNeil) Cogan, 73, a resident of Middleboro, died at McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, MA on Tuesday, April 19. She was the wife of 52 years of John D. “Jack” Cogan. Born and raised in Roxbury, she was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School. She was a resident of Middleboro for the past 11 years after living in Stoughton for 38 years. She was a winter resident of N. Fort Myers, FL for many years, where she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Cogan was a computer program operator at Stoughton High School for 19 years before retiring in 1993. Through the years, she was active with Girl Scouts, Stoughton Youth Hockey, Stoughton Little League and the Little League fundraisers. In her free time, she volunteered helping exceptional citizens and enjoyed traveling.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Cogan is survived by her children, Cheryl Heath and her husband Donald of Whitman, John Cogan and his wife Sandra and Christopher Cogan and his wife Kathleen all of Middleboro and Paul Cogan and his wife Cheryl of Bridgewater. She was the loving and devoted grandmother of Keith, Kimberlee, Steven, Jennifer, Kailyn and Christopher Cogan and Nicollette Heath. She was the sister of Annette Caprio of Cotuit, Lawrence McNeil of Taunton and was predeceased by Marie Roy, Sonny McNeil and Patricia Gillen.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Tuesday at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Visiting Hours Monday from 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton. Donations in Tena’s memory may be made to the Hospice of Cape Cod, 765 Attucks Ln, Hyannis, MA 02601.
