Obituary

WORCESTER-Robert W. O’Neill, 86, formerly of 56 Richmond Avenue died Friday January 23rd in Clark Manor Nursing Home. He leaves his wife of 36 years Ruth M. (Johnson) O’Neill, a daughter Patricia Weber of Baltimore, MD and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son John O’Neill in 2001.

He was born in Worcester the son of John F. and Anna C. (Ellstrom) O’Neill and was an Army veteran of WWII, and a charter member of the 212th E & G Squadron in the Air National Guard, retiring in 1971 as Commander. Mr. O'Neill was a cable splicer for U.S. Steel for 37 years. He was a long time member of Sandwich American Legion Post 188, VFW Post 2578 in Hyannis, The Marconi Club of Sagamore, the Rufas Putnam Lodge in Rutland and The Scottish Rites of Worcester and Springfield.

The funeral is Tuesday, January 27th at 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Mooreland Cemetery, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, January 26th from 6:00 until 9:00 PM in the funeral home.
