Obituary

Marsden R. “Skip” Anderson 80, a lifelong Franklin resident, died peacefully Monday April 18, 2011 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Edith L. “Edie” (Celima) Anderson who died in 2004.
Born in Franklin August 16, 1930 a son of the late John A. and Emma D. (Bergquist) Anderson, he was raised and educated in Franklin, and was a 1948 graduate of Franklin High School.
He retired in the late 1980’s from the Frito-Lay Company, where he worked for many years as a delivery & route salesman.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. Stationed in Germany, he attained the rank of Private 1st class. He was awarded the Army Occupation Medal (Germany), and the National Defense Service Medal and was honorably discharged in March 1954.
He was an avid sports fan of all the Boston & New England sports teams.
He is survived by 2 sons; David P. Anderson of Franklin, Gary C. Anderson and his wife Ashley of Franklin, 2 daughters; Laura J. Nottie and her husband Joseph of Cumberland, Inger M. Anderson of Franklin, and a sister Martha A. Bell of Hopedale, and 5 grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late John, Daniel, Donald and Esther Anderson, Dorothy Jillson, Leona Silvi, Pauline Feccia and Elizabeth Tarallo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service Friday April 22nd, at 11AM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. FRANKLIN, www.oterifuneralhome.com.
Following cremation, burial with military honors will take place at the family lot in Union Street Cemetery.
Calling hours are Thursday from 4-8PM.
