Worcester – Rita D. (Barriere) Toupin, 89, formerly of Messier St., Grafton died on Thursday January 22 in the Christopher House.
Her husband Maurice A. Toupin died in 2000. She leaves a son Brian Toupin of North Grafton; a daughter Diana L. Lacomfora of West Boylston; a sister Edna Scerra of Auburn; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her five brothers Hector, Frank, Ernie, Lawrence, and Omer Barriere and two sisters Irene Colaizzi and Yvonne Johnson. Mrs. Toupin was born in Auburn daughter of Alfred and Emma (Contois) Toupin.
Mrs. Toupin was a former member of St. James Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts and was an avid bowler.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday January 27 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond St. with a mass at 11 AM in St. James Church 89 Main St. South Grafton. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, South Grafton. Calling hours will be on Monday January 26 from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
