Harold J. Nickerson, 60, of Litchfield, NH, died Friday, April 15, 2011 in the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA following a lengthy illness. He was born in Boston, MA on June 19, 1950, a son of the late Harold and Catherine (Crosskill) Nickerson, Sr., and had been a resident of Litchfield for the past 10 years, formerly living in Middleboro, MA. Harold was an avid outdoor person and enjoyed walking the beach and golfing. He loved to make people laugh and telling crazy jokes. Harold had been employed as a senior process chemical engineer for many years.
He is survived by his wife Michelle (Comire) Nickerson of Litchfield; two daughters, Kerri-Lyn Nickerson and her fiance Paul Bertozzi of Eliott, ME, and Vicki Russo and her husband Richard Jr. of Londonderry, NH; one son, Michael Huguenin and his wife Tara of Westminster, MA; four granddaughters, Courtni Russo, Alyssa Russo, Emma Russo, and Hazel Huguenin; one brother, Paul Nickerson of Carver, MA; three sisters, Betty Vodden, Jean Nickerson, and Ann Vodden all of Brockton, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, David Nickerson.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 20th from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00am in the funeral home, with cremation following.
