Obituary

Robert Brian White, of Andover, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011. He was 73 years old. On Sunday, he had enjoyed a gorgeous, sunny day at his nephew’s home, surrounded by his grand nieces and grand nephew and all their neighborhood friends. In his usual fashion, he spent the day laughing and playing games with the children. He left with a big smile, and later passed peacefully at his home. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered.
Born in Boston on April 8, 1938, Bob was the beloved son of the late Anna Gertrude (Walsh) and the late Roy Francis White. He was a graduate of Reading High School, class of 1957. He attended Springfield College and Suffolk University prior to enlisting with the United States Army in 1959. He served proudly in Germany and Vietnam.
Bob was formerly self employed at a sporting goods store in North Reading and had also worked part time with his brother at an auto body business In North Andover. Most recently, he had been enjoying his retirement, always helping family and friends. Bob loved all aspects of nature, and enjoyed hiking, fishing, hunting, camping and boating. He was an extremely talented artist, and an avid dart player.
Bob is survived by his brother’s; Roy and wife Phyllis and David and his wife Carole, daughter’s; Sandra and Wendy, son; Robert, several grandchildren and many special cousins, nephews, nieces, grandnieces, grandnephew, and special friends. Bob was also the brother of the late Dorothy McWhinney.
