ARCHIBALD, Marcia (nee Noyes), 85, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 13, 2011.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Douglas C. Archibald. Marcia was the daughter of the late Isabell and Bradford Noyes.
Marcia was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority at her alma mater, Cornell University. Before moving to Cresskill, she lived in River Edge for 60 years. She was very active through the years at the First Congregational Church where she served on various boards and was the church clerk for 22 years. While raising her children in River Edge, she was a volunteer for many community organizations and was also an avid bridge player. Her kind heart and sweet smile will be truly missed by all of her wonderful friends.
Marcia is survived by her children Shirley Avakian of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; Nancy Wetzel and her husband, Robert, of Emerald Isle, North Carolina; and Dotsie Osusky and her husband, Mario, of Ringwood, New Jersey; her sister Virginia Bartholow of Columbia, South Carolina, her brother-in-law Dr. Kenneth C. Archibald of San Francisco, California; several nieces and nephews, and dear friends Chris and Bob Egner. She was the cherished grandmother of Brad (and wife Jennie) and Kerry Avakian, Justin and Brian Wetzel, and Toby and Dylan Osusky. She was recently blessed with a great-grand daughter, Vivienne Avakian.
The family will receive friends 10 am-11 am on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the First Congregational Church, 109 Continental Ave. River Edge, NJ. Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the church. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
