Obituary

BEVERLY: William G. O’Hare, age 60, beloved husband of Cathryn Keefe O’Hare and father of Kieran Michael, Thomas Andrew and Sarah Catherine, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. He had been diagnosed with cancer only five weeks earlier.
Born in Everett, MA, he was the son of the late Prof. William G. and Edna C. (Wilson) O’Hare formerly of Danvers.
Bill worked for the City of Beverly as the director of Community Development. He previously worked for Trinity Financial, Lawrence Savings Bank, Bay Bank and the Northern Middlesex Area Commission.
He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Notre Dame in 1972 and he received his Master of Business Administration from Boston College in 1980.
Friends describe Bill as one of the smartest men they ever knew. He was noted for his passionate interests. He was a sailor and wooed Cathryn with many glorious afternoons sailing on the Danvers River. He played the bagpipes for the Clan McPherson for many years. He coached his children’s soccer teams and was so interested in the game that he became a referee. He made some of the best home-brewed beer. For many years, he was an avid bicyclist. He also loved to read, especially in warm weather on his patio with a cigar in hand.
In addition to his wife and children, he leaves his dear brother Gregory deZarn-O’Hare and sister-in-law Chris; his wife’s family, Camilla and Allan Duffy, Mary Ann and Derek Brandt, Frank and Jennifer Keefe, Jim and Christina Keefe and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
