TEWKSBURY - Dorothy M. Parè, age 87, a town resident for six decades, died Thursdaymorning, Jan. 22, at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of Edmond J.Parè, with whom she had celebrated a 66th wedding anniversary this past July 24th.
She was born in Lowell, Nov. 17, 1916, a daughter of the late Albert and Bridgett (Lacey)Nuttall. She was raised in Lowell, and graduated Lowell High School. She moved to Tewksburyin 1942.
In her earlier years, she worked as a Governess for a Newton, Mass. family. Later she became a“Mill Girl” at the Wannalancet and later at Newmarket Mills in Lowell. During WWII, sheoversaw the inspection of silk production, used in military parachutes, at Newmarket Mills. Shealso worked at Hathaway Shirt manufacturing company. Her longest period of employment wasas bookkeeper for her husband’s auto repair company, P & L Auto Body company in Lowell.Most recently, after her retirement, she acquired a Real Estate Brokers license.
She was a communicant of St. William’s Church.
She was also active in the formation of the Tewksbury-Wilmington Emblem Club, and was amongthe three surviving charter members for that group.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Edward “Butch” Parè of Tewksbury; threedaughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Joseph Crispo of Westford, Deborah and Pierre Cote ofMontreal, P.Q., Michelle and Peter Brosseau of Willimastown, Ont.; a son-in-law Robert Isabelleof Enfield, NH; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also mother of the late Charlotte Isabelle; and sister of the late George and ThomasNuttall, Margaret Broderick, and Mildred Snider.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, Jan. 26, in St. William’s Church. Interment inSt. Joseph’s Cemetery, E. Chelmsford.
