George A. Vetter of Reading passed away on April 10, 2011 at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester. He was 73 years of age.
Born in Malden, Massachusetts, George was the son of the late Yvonne (Pelletier) Vetter and Hans Vetter.
George proudly defended our freedom by serving in the United States Air Force. He was member of the Elite Strategic Air Command where he served as radio operator. He then worked in the engineering industry for years while receiving his Masters Degree from Fitchburg State College. George then began his career as an electronics teacher at Shawsheen Tech where he retired after 26 years.He was a proud son, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be missed by all.
George was the beloved husband of the late Maureen (Boles) Vetter. He was the devoted father of Kris Anderson and her husband Dean of NC, Karen Curran and her husband Scott of Wilmington and Kim Vetter of Reading. He was the cherished grandfather of Brandon Anderson, Julia and Allie Curran. Loving brother of Grace Boudreau and her husband Tom of FL and the late Fred Vetter of Malden. Also survived by 4 nephews and 5 nieces.
A Funeral Service celebrating George’s Life will be held on Friday at 10 am in the Chapel of the Doherty – Barile Family Funeral Home, 11 Linden St. READING.
Family and friends are cordially invited to gather and share remembrances with the Family on Thursday from 5-7 pm in the Funeral Home. Parking attendants will be available.
Interment with Military Honors Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading.
