WORCESTER-James M. Zingarelli, Sr., 93, of Worcester, died Sunday, April 10th in the Christopher House. He leaves his wife of 63 years, Lillian M. (Azzarone) Zingarelli; two sons, James M. Zingarelli, Jr. and his wife Luanne of West Boylston and Richard R. Zingarelli and his wife Barbara Brown of Swampscott; a daughter, Tina M. Cullina of Sutton; a brother, Frank Zingarelli of Worcester; a sister, Mary Cosenza of Westborough; a grandson, Christopher Cullina of Worcester; nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers, Angelo and Maurice Zingarelli.
He was born in Worcester, the son of Gaetano and Bettina (DiLiddo) Zingarelli and lived here all his life. Mr. Zingarelli worked for the City of Worcester’s Hope Cemetery as foreman for many years, retiring as superintendant in 1975. He was a member and lector of St. Andrew the Apostle Church and it’s Men’s Club, the Worcester Lodge of Elks, the Knights of Columbus, and was the Past Commander of the East Side American Legion Post 201. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army.
His funeral is Wednesday, April 13th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. Wednesday in the funeral home.
