MURIEL (DAVIS) ANAGNOSTI, 87, of Boston, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Southwood at Norwell Nursing Center after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Perley and Helen (Ritchie) Davis and wife of the late William Anagnosti. Muriel was also cousin of the late Frank, Edward and John Hornstra of Hingham. She is survived by many cousins, extended family and long-time friend, Dorothy Havener of Natick.
Muriel was a former employee of Apahouser, Inc., of Watertown. She was a resident for 33 years of Ladies Guild House, Kenmore Square, Boston where she enjoyed magnificent views of the city. In earlier years, she resided in Manchester-by-the-Sea with her husband with whom she traveled significantly. She was known for her gift of gab and appreciation of the company of close friends and family. Muriel will forever be remembered for her gracious manner and loving, generous spirit.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, April 16th at 11 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of Muriel's favorite pastimes, listener-supported radio on "The Memory Station", WJIB, 443 Concord Ave., Cambridge, MA 02138 or to a charity of one's choice. The interment is to be private.
