Obituary

Euphemia “Fay” (Thomson) Farrell, 74, died April 1, 2011 in Essex Park Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Joseph Farrell.
Born in Scotland on May 6,1936, she was the daughter of Andrew and Alice (Corbett) Thomson. She was raised and educated in Edinburgh, Scotland. She came to the United States in 1957 and raised her family in Danvers. Fay retired to Salem, NH, where she was active in the elderly community.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen Farrell and Gabriella Horvath of Framingham and Peter and Lucy Farrell of San Mateo, CA; siblings, John Thomson of Ireland, Alice McMorrin and Heather McVie both of Scotland; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Farrell of Danvers and Doris Farrell of Beverly; her brother-in-law Lawrence Farrell and his wife Irene of Plaistow, NH; her brother-in-law Thomas Borthwick of Scotland; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9AM on Thurs., April 14, 2011 in St. Mary of the Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Fay’s name to the Danvers People-to-People, Food Pantry, PO Box 2076, Danvers, MA 01923.
