TAUNTON – Rosa M. (Felix) Cotto, wife of Ramon Cotto, Sr. died at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston on April 9, 2011.
She was 82.
Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Santiago and Petra (Fonseca) Felix.
She was raised and educated in Puerto Rico, before moving to the Taunton area in 1959.
For over 24 years, Mrs. Cotto was employed as a cutter for the former Roberson Curtain Factory, retiring 18 years ago.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Taunton, Mrs. Cotto was awarded the Marian Medal, many years ago.
She enjoyed sports, especially the Red Sox, and loved cooking for everyone and anyone.
She was happiest when basking in the company of her beloved family.
Besides her husband of Taunton, she leaves a son, Ramon Cotto, Jr. and his wife Karen of Taunton; a daughter, Margarita Arcand her husband Dr. Leo Arcand of Raynham; two brothers, Luis Felix of Puerto Rico and Francisco Felix of NY; four sisters, Maria, Alicia, and Luz Maria Felix, and Felicita Roldan, all of Puerto Rico; seven grandchildren, Nancy Fontaine, Priscilla Alicea and Lisa Mauricio, all of RI, Ramon E. Cotto of GA, Kristopher Arcand of Boston, Timothy Arcand of Chicago and Rebecca Arcand of Raynham; eleven great grandchildren; several aunts and uncles; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Jose E. Cotto and the sister of the late Santo, Jose Manuel, and Carmelo Felix.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Wednesday, April 13th at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Church, Taunton at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 12th from 5 to 8 p.m.
