Mary (LaFratta) Piver age 87 of W. Bridgewater died Thursday April 7, 2011 at Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. She was the loving wife of Roy Piver, Sr. for 64 years. Mary was born November 7, 1923 in Brockton a daughter of the late Silvano and Regina (Jantomaso) LaFratta. Mary had been a hairdresser with her late sister Fanny and was also a loving homemaker. For the past 60 years she made Sunday dinner for her entire family.
She was the devoted mother of Roy Piver, Jr. and his wife Jane of E. Bridgewater; Jeannie Piver of W. Bridgewater; Lorraine Bromley and her husband Edward of Bridgewater; Susan Dalton and her husband Martin of Easton and Jeffrey Piver and his wife Jane of W. Bridgewater. She leaves five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of James LaFratta of Monument Beach and the late Fanny Martin, Dan, Nick, Tony and Angelo LaFratta.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 4-8 pm. Her funeral service will be in the funeral home Tuesday at 10 am followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater. Donations in Mary’s name may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
