Obituary

ALKINS, John G.- Of Malden, April 7th. Devoted husband of Constance (Berggren). Beloved father of Linda Faiella and her husband William of Melrose, Donna LoPresti of NH, Connie Alkins of Tewksbury, Kevin Alkins of Malden and the late John Alkins. Brother of the late William Alkins and Shirley Davey. Lovingly survived by 6 grandchildren, 11 grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Carroll Funeral Home, 721 Salem Street, (Maplewood Square) MALDEN on Sunday, April 10th from 3-7 PM. Committal Services will be private. Expressions of sympathy in John's name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1 Bromfield St., Boston, MA 02108 or to the Alzheimers Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
Born 86 years ago in Melrose and a resident there until moving to Malden in 1946, John passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon at Epoch of Melrose after a brief illness. For over 45 years John worked as a forman at Glover Coating Co. and part time at Maxie's and was a member of the Malden, Moose and proud veteran of World War II.
