Sandra W. Abell Walters, 67, of Tifton died Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Southern Care Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2011, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Kent Johnson and Rev. Sonny Pate will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Jimmy Watson, Daniel Tawzer, Ricky Tawzer, Dion Hale, Stacey Abell and Bryan Abell will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 8, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Ms. Walters was born on December 8, 1943 in Tifton and was the son of Ray Winton Abell and Juanita Gray Abell, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by two brothers. She was a retired accountant and a member of Fourth Street Baptist Church.
Ms. Walters is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Leighton and Stephanie Walters of Macon; one daughter and son-in-law, Leighanne and Rich Brown of Atlanta; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Marie Abell, Gary and Mary Abell and Royce and Charlotte Abell, all of Tifton; two sisters, Darlene Abell Thomas of Enigma and Frances Soderlund of Tifton; and four grandchildren, Ethan Aicher, Kyleigh Brown, Sarah Kate Walters and Leah Walters.
