Obituary

BEVERLY: George R. Trudeau, 66, died Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in the Blueberry Hill Healthcare in Beverly following an extended illness. He was the husband of Carmen C. (Rojas) Trudeau.
Born in Lynn on October 2, 1944, he was the son of the late Oscar and Rita (Carpenter) Trudeau. A lifelong resident of Beverly, he had received diplomas in cabinet making, appliance repair and plumbing from the Penn Foster School in Scranton, Pennsylvania. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, George was the proud recipient of the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and the Good Conduct Medal before his honorable discharge in November 1965.
George owned and operated the Carmen & George’s Wood Turning Company for many years. He was also an active member of the Pilgrim Church in Beverly.
In addition to his beloved wife, Carmen, he is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by his brother, William Trudeau.
His funeral service will be held on Monday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot Street, Beverly at 12 noon. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10 – 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Pilgrim Church, 300 Cabot St., Beverly, MA 01915 to establish The George & Carmen Trudeau Career Opportunity Scholarship Fund for Pilgrim members to attend trade school. Interment will be held in the Central Cemetery, Beverly.
