Rita G. Talbot, 93, of South Lawrence, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill surrounded by her loving family.
Rita was born, raised and educated in Lawrence and has been a lifelong resident. She worked for many years as a mender at the former Wood Mill and then she worked at Western Electric. She dedicated her life to raising her son Mark and caring for her family. Those who knew Rita remember her for her loving personality and always enjoying a good time.
Rita is predeceased by her husband, Roland Talbot. She leaves her son, Mark Talbot of Lawrence and her sister Claire Joynson and her husband George of Andover, MA and 4 nephews, David, Douglas and Daniel Talbot and Robert Joynson.
At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to a Memorial Mass in Rita’s honor on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church in North Andover. Burial of ashes will immediately follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover, MA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Arthur Scott Funeral Home, Lawrence. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, Home Care Inc., 360 Merrimack St., Bldg 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
