Danny P. Nunes, age 17, a life long resident of Somerville and student at Somerville High School, passed away Tuesday at the Somerville Hospital. Born in Cambridge he was the son of Maria M. Nunes and Patrick J. Hayes III both of Somerville. Danny was an eleventh grade student at Somerville High School and was employed part time at the Harvard University Dining Services. He enjoyed baseball and hanging around with his girlfriend and thier friends. He also loved being with his family and loved children and his younger cousins. Danny was a strong presence, always smiling and was the center of attention at many family gatherings especially to his younger cousins.
In addition to his parents, Danny is survived by his his brother and sisters, Patrick Hayes IV, Stacie Hayes and Justyn Collier, grandparents Anibal and Noemia Nunes of Somerville. His mother´s fiance Steve Medeiros of Somerville. Uncles, Fernando Nunes of New Hampshire and Tony Nunes of Somerville, Aunts, Lucy and Maria Nunes both of Somerville, Elizabeth Anzeloni, Virginia Hayes, Theresa Hayes, Christine Samone and Jane Hayes. He is also survived by his cousins Derek, Justine, Jackie, Shayne, Benjamin, Sydney, Gabriella, and Victoria. Danny is further survived by his girlfriend Shanna Peters.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St. Medford, Saturday at 9 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Ann Church 399 Medford St. Somerville, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 & 7-9. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
