ROBERT M. WILKIE, JR., 67, a devoted family man and longtime resident of Rockland, died on Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Mr. Wilkie was born in Weymouth and was raised and educated in Hanover. He was an auto parts salesman and was associated with several auto parts locations in the South Shore area. He was an avid member of the Experimental Aircraft Association # 279 in Halifax and was a NASCAR and motorcycle enthusiast.
He leaves his wife Nancy E. (Jermyn) Wilkie and daughter, Kimberly A. Wilkie both of Rockland. Grandfather of Ashleigh, Taylor, Keeleigh and Bobbi Wilkie all of Rockland. Brother of David G. Wilkie and his wife Rita of Framingham, Lynda J. Gould and her husband Jay of Rockland, Marjorie A. Peterson and her husband Carl of Blackstone, MA, Catherine R. Conley of Alfred, ME and Susan R. Bailey of Abington. Nephew of Marjorie Curley of Colorado and Jean Johnson and her husband Herbert of Plymouth. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and the family cat, "Boots".
A Funeral Service will be conducted on Sunday, April 10th at 4 PM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham. Relatives and friends may visit at the Downing Chapel prior to the service from 1 - 4 PM.
