New Bedford – Robert A. Nunes, 65, of Dartmouth died unexpectedly January 20, 2004 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Susan E. (Tripp) Nunes.
He was born in New Bedford son of the late Anthony and Rose (Duarte) Nunes and resided in Dartmouth all of his life. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, S. Dartmouth. He was employed by the Dartmouth Public School System as a custodian at the Cushman School for 18 years.
Mr. Nunes was the owner/operator of the Nunes Dairy Farm in Dartmouth for many years, a fireman for District #1 in Dartmouth for many years and was an avid bowler.
In addition to his widow he is survived by 3 daughters: Patricia Gonsalves, Kathryn Nunes and Judith Machado all of Dartmouth; 2 sisters: Eleanor Patnode of Florida and Marjorie Souza of Dartmouth; 5 grandchildren: David Gonsalves, Erin Weidenfeller, Joey Machado, Jared Machado and Janae Machado; and several nieces & nephews.
At the request of the family services will be private.
