Obituary

Beatrice (nee Ladoulis) Angel, of Boston MA, Deerfield Beach FL and most recently Marina Bay, MA, was born in Boston on January 3, 1927 to Theodore and Nicoletta Ladoulis. Beloved wife and companion of 64 years to Byron F. Angel, mother of Byron F. Angel Jr. and his wife Elizabeth Morton, Althea Angel and her husband David McElwaine, and Alison Angel and her husband Donald Russell. Devoted Yiayia to K.C. Russell and Colt McElwaine. Bea was the eldest of five and is survived by her siblings Demetra Yianilos, William T. Ladoulis and Bessie, Steven T. Ladoulis and Lillian, and Charles T. Ladoulis and Barbara, as well as a galaxy of cherished nieces and nephews.

A distinguished alumna of Girls Latin School, Beatrice was a highly talented concert pianist who performed in many recitals, including a premier of the works of Alan Hovhannes at Jordan Hall. In addition, she served as president of the Boston League of Women Voters and the Girls’ Latin School Parent Teachers Association. “Bea”, as she was known to friends and family, was also a lover of travel, flowers, and gardening, an expert crossword puzzler, and a ruthless Scrabble player. She will be remembered for her grace and dignity. A celebration of Bea’s life will be held in the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:00-3:00 pm.
