TAUNTON – Richard C. Wainfor, husband of Mary E. (Correia) Wainfor, died at his Taunton home on April 2, 2011.
He was 82.
Born in Marion, Ohio, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Alice (Burke) Wainfor.
Raised and educated in Ohio, Mr. Wainfor served in the U.S. Navy and later moved to the Taunton area.
He was employed as a transportation specialist and attendant with Taunton State Hospital for over thirty years before retiring many years ago.
A member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Norton, Mr. Wainfor was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed traveling, and spending time with his family.
Besides his wife of Taunton, he leaves two daughters, Donna Jackson of Lincoln, RI and Ann Marie St. Pierre of Central Falls, RI; two stepsons, Kevin Thomas of E. Sandwich and Michael Kelly of Taunton; two stepdaughters, Karen Wilbur of E. Taunton and Christine Firlit of Fall River; a brother Robert Wainfor of Ohio; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a nephew.
He was also the husband of the late Lorraine (Duval) Wainfor and the father of the late Ricky Wainfor.
Memorial Services will be held at the New Testament Baptist Church, 1 New Taunton Ave. (Rte. 140) Norton on Thursday April 7th at 4 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
