Obituary

Mary A. Veronelli, a 28 year resident of Melrose and formerly of Somerville, died on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston following an extended illness.

Mary was born in Boston on April 12, 1920 to the late Aristodemo and Celestina (Sartori) Veronelli. She grew up in Somerville where she attended Somerville Public Schools and graduated from Somerville High School in 1938. Mary worked for over 20 years as a Printed Circuit Designer for American Science and Engineering which was located in Cambridge. Mary was a pioneer in the design and development of printed circuit technology. Mary traveled extensively, domestically and internationally as it was a passion and she shared her love for travel with her sister and her nieces and nephews. Mary was a devoted member of The Dante Alighieri Society of Massachusetts.

Mary is the devoted sister of Hilda Veronelli of Melrose, John Veronelli and his wife Patricia of Melrose and the late Aldo Veronelli and his surviving wife Thelma of Somerville. Mary is the loving aunt of many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's Funeral on Friday, April 8, 2011, at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Melrose, followed by her Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main Street, Wakefield, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, April 7, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, kindly make a memorial donation in Mary's name to Most Blessed Sacrament Church Building Fund, 11 Grove St. Wakefield, MA 01880.
