Melvin J. ‘Mel’ Fistori, 92 of Medford, died peacefully Sunday in the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford, MA.
Born in Somerville, he lived in Medford and Englewood, Florida for many years and was the son of the late Elizabeth (Lavazolla) and Philip Fistori. Mel was a Foreman at W.R. Grace in Cambridge for 42 years and retired in 1983. He served during World War II in the Army from 1942 to 1945.
Beloved husband of the late Bridget (Coffey) Fistori. Devoted father of Mary O'Keefe and her husband Walter of Medford, Melrene Stone and her husband Allen of Revere, Theresa Doherty and her husband Daniel of Malden, Christina Rivkees and her husband Scott of CT, Timothy Fistori and his wife Carol. Dear uncle of Alfred Poirier and his wife Sandra of Tewksbury. Also survived by 11 loving grandchildren and 8 loving great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 9 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8.
Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
