Kenneth U. Maheux, 60, of 101 Windward Peak Ct., Greer SC died at his residence Sunday evening, January 18, 2004. He was born in Laconia NH on October 26, 1943 the son of W. Robert Maheux and Mary Patten.
He was raised in Laconia and was employed by Laconia Malleable Iron Co. He worked for his uncle, Tony Maheux as a painter and eventually owned the businessuntil illness forced his retirement. Mr. Maheux has been a resident of Greer for the past 14 years.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a talented woodworker.
Family members include his wife of 37 years, Barbara (Provencal) Maheux of Greer; two daughters, Marcia L. Clark of Northfield NH and Patricia A. Orkins of Greer SC; two sons, Kenneth L. Maheux of Laconia and James L. Maheux of Greer, SC; six grandchildren, Kelcie Wakefield, James Maheux, Gina Maheux, Adam Clark, Tashia Orkins and Chris Jameson; his mother Mary Blackey of Belmont; two sisters, Jane Gove of Gilmanton Corner and Marjorie Couture of Hyde Pk. VT; two brothers, Robert Maheux of Laconia and Herbert Munsey of Spokane WA; nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were in the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church St., Laconia on Thursday from 7 to 9 PM. A Funeral Mass was celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Ave. on Friday at 10 AM. Rev. Adrien Longchamps, pastor was the celebrant. Cremation followed. Memorial donations may be made to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Blvd., Spartanburg, SC 29301.
