Obituary

Yolanda B. (DiTonno) Amico, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, died suddenly on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. She was 83 years old.

Yolanda was born in Wakefield on July 20, 1927 to the late John and Carmella (Boniuto) DiTonno. She grew up in Wakefield where she attended Wakefield Public Schools and graduated from Wakefield High School in 1945. Yolanda was presently working as a Sales Associate at T.J. Max Retail Store in Saugus for the past 10 years. She was the former Supervisor for over 20 years at The Colonial Hilton Restaurant in Lynnfield.

Yolanda is the devoted mother of Christine Griffin and her husband John of Barrington, Illinois, Kathleen Williams of Quincy and Anthony Amico and his wife Gerilynn of Wakefield. She is the loving Nana to Ashley, Laura and Jaclyn Griffin all of Illinois and Alexandra Amico of Wakefield. She is the beloved sister of Rose Dunphy of Cambridge, Alfred DiTonno of Wakefield, Lena Tine of Canyon Lake, California and the late Mary Reed, Vienna Page, Rudolph DiTonno and Frank DiTonno.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Yolanda's Funeral on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Wakefield/Melrose line, followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Avenue, Wakefield, at 10 a.m. Interment at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 4 to 8 p.m.
