Clotilde “Tillie”(Sousa) Arruda, age 98 of Fall River passed away April 3, 2011. Born in Fegueuro da Vinhos, Portugal, she was the widow of Anibal Arruda and daughter of the late Horacio and Rita (Silvia) Sousa. Tillie came to Fall River at age 9 and was a US citizen. She had been a saleslady at Cherry & Webb and later a floor girl at Little Dorothy Dress Shop. She was a parishioner of Holy Name Church.
She was the mother of Thomas J. Arruda of Lakeville and Barbara L. Nash (husband William) of Middletown, RI; grandmother of Jeffrey, Michael and Joanne Arruda, Kim Ayala and Kelly Santos, William Jr., Timothy and Andrew Nash; great grandmother of 11; aunt to several nieces and nephews and sister of the late Helen Arruda and Zulmira Sousa. Tillie was a avid and faithful fan of the Red Sox.

Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River WEDNESDAY at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name Church, Hanover St. at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery.
