Dr. James Wilson Limbaugh, Jr., age 78 of Clarksville, TN, died Wednesday, March 31, 2011 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at 4 p.m., with Dr. Roger Freeman and Dr. John David Laida officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 7 p.m., and Tuesday beginning at 2 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Dr. Limbaugh was a graduate of Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis, TN. He was in family practice in Lewisburg, TN and practiced Radiology in Clarksville for 42 years. He was on staff at Gateway Medical Center. As Chief of Staff at Memorial Hospital, he was instrumental in bringing radiation oncology to Clarksville, as well as the first mammography machine and the first MRI machine. He was a member of the American College of Radiology, the American Medical Association, and the First Baptist Church of Clarksville.
He was born August 1, 1932 in Chicago, IL, son of the late James Wilson Limbaugh, Sr. and Thelma Sanders Limbaugh.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Ramona Joyce Wilkison Limbaugh; two sons, Jason Limbaugh (Melissa), Murfreesboro, TN and Jim Limbaugh (Vickie), Lewisburg, TN; a daughter, Cindy Limbaugh-Frakes (Scott), Goodlettsville, TN; five grandchildren, Rebecca and Wilson Limbaugh, Caitlin Frakes, Steven Pennington (Tara) and Jodie Pennington Bone (Ronnie); and two great-grandchildren, Landon and Parker Pennington.
