Mr. Harry N. Van Geenhoven, age 67 a lifelong resident of Medford died unexpectedly March 17, on the Island of Bonaire, near Aruba. He was there with friends on a diving expedition when he suddenly became ill. He was the beloved husband of Suzuyo (Kimura) Van Geenhoven with whom he shared more than 39 years of marriage. Mr. Van Geenhoven was born in Medford, son of the late Harry W. and the late Marguerite (Drummey) Van Geenhoven. He is a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1961.He soon joined the Air Force and served during the Vietnam Era. Harry worked for the City of Boston as a Procurement Specialist for many years. An avid diver, he was also a collector of Japanese swords. He loved gardening and movies. He had also served as Union Steward. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Marguerite Van Geenhoven of Medford, a son Harry K. Van Geenhoven and his wife Christina of Danvers who are expecting his first grandchild soon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday April 6, from 4 thru 8 being held at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Interment will be private.
