KIRK, Joan L. (Hewitt), of Winthrop, passed away at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital on March 30, 2011. She was 69. She was the beloved wife of John J. “Jack” Kirk. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Hugh M. and Marian V. (Sanborn) Hewitt. Devoted mother and step-mother of Robert V. Cone and his wife Julie of Latham, NY, Christine L. Murphy and her husband Kevin of Winthrop, Scott B. Cone and his companion Robin McDonough of Winthrop, John T. Kirk and his wife Joanne of Winthrop, Dennis E. Kirk of Revere, and William J. Kirk of Saugus. Dear sister of her late twin Judith Acone and Virginia Triantos. Adored grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 5. Long time best friend of Cynthia Otter of Lynn. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. At the request of the family, funeral arrangements will be private. Prior to her retirement, Joan worked as a waitress in Jeveli’s Restaurant in East Boston, and the former Cloud Nine Restaurant in Logan Airport. Funeral arrangements are from the Maurice W.
